Data Sharing Policy
As researchers who are deeply invested in open science practices, we – the Editorial Team at Studia Psychologica – strongly believe that open sharing of research data promotes research integrity, transparency and reproducibility, while also providing an indispensable resource for scientists seeking to replicate or synthesize published findings for the purposes of meta-analyses, systematic reviews etc.
This is why, beginning October 2026, we will expect each new submission to our journal to be accompanied, whenever possible, by datasets supporting their results archived on a publicly available repository (e.g., OSF, Zenodo, Figshare) or published as a Supplementary data file along with the online version of the article. These datasets must contain enough information to reproduce all primary analyses reported in the articles published in Studia Psychologica. Authors of submitted articles are also encouraged by the Editorial Board of Studia Psychologica to use the same public repository to share their research materials and analytic codes.
To indicate compliance with this policy, all submitted articles need to include a Data availability statement containing a link to the repository where the data is stored in their Title page, as well as a link in the Method section of the main manuscript (this link should be anonymized for peer-review purposes, but de-anonymized when the manuscript is accepted for publication).
The Data Availability Statement may follow any suitable format (e.g., “The dataset supporting the findings of this study is publicly available on the Open Science Framework (OSF) at https://osf.io/abcd1/.....”).
The dataset does not have to be publicly available at the time of the submission (e.g., it can be shared as an anonymous view-only link of a private OSF project), but the resources have to be made public at the latest when submitting corrected proofs of the author’s accepted manuscript.
In case authors want to share their data as a Supplementary data file published along with the online version of the article, they may choose to submit the dataset along with their submission to Studia Psychologica, and include this Data Availability Statement: “The dataset supporting the findings of this study is attached to the published online version of this manuscript as a Supplementary Data file”.
At the same time, the Editorial Board of Studia Psychologica understands that in certain situations, some or all of the data supporting the manuscript’s findings cannot be made public for ethical or legal reasons (e.g., due to sensitive data, confidentiality concerns, institutional or national regulations or laws), and that this can be especially the case with certain types of research methods (e.g., qualitative interviews). In these cases, submitting authors have to explain the reasons for not sharing their datasets or parts of the datasets in the Data availability statement included in the Title page associated with their submission. Editors may either grant an exception to the Data sharing policy if they deem the reasons to be valid or may choose to reject the submission based on not complying with the Data Sharing Policy.
