About the Journal

The Journal of Hydrology and Hydromechanics is an international, open-access journal for the basic disciplines of water sciences.

The scope of hydrology is limited to biohydrology, catchment hydrology, and vadose zone hydrology, primarily of the temperate zone. Submitted papers should be original research papers that enhance the science in the above-mentioned parts of hydrology.

The hydromechanics covers theoretical, experimental, and computational hydraulics and fluid mechanics across various fields, including two- and multiphase flows (including non-Newtonian flows) and new frontiers in hydraulics.

The Journal publishes original research papers, case studies, and reviews that have been thoroughly peer reviewed. The submitted papers aimed at region-specific problems should present and analyse past and/or future conditions and design solutions, or provide new knowledge or results compared to other previously published studies (comparative science). Novelty of the contribution should be clearly presented. The journal particularly welcomes research papers that deliver new insights into region-specific hydrological or hydrodynamic processes and responses to changing conditions.

The authors are not subject to any publication fees.

The Institute of Hydrology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava, Slovak Republic, publishes the Journal. Volumes 1–40 of this journal were issued under the title Vodohospodársky časopis.

Manuscript (with a maximum length of 30 pages and a size of 5 MB) should be sent as an attachment to the e-mail jhh@savba.sk

The names, addresses and email addresses of 5 potential referees should be submitted with the manuscript.
