Abstract

Improvements in machine tools in the last few decades include the improvement of constructive and operational characteristics in order to respond to market demands. To a large extent, this implies ensuring high processing accuracy while adapting to different dimensions of the workpieces and the machines themselves. Testing the positioning accuracy is one of the most important indicators of the condition and capabilities of individual axes of numerically controlled machine tools and their elements. Therefore, improving testing procedures and analyzing positioning accuracy results represent an essential research tasks in modern production engineering. The paper presents the results of research conducted with the aim of determining the influence of the choice of positioning accuracy test parameters on the measurement results with reference to the characteristics of the machines from the point of view of the size of the working space and the machines themselves.
